Mike entered the insurance business immediately following his graduation from Eastern Illinois University in 1990. Throughout his career, Mike has had the opportunity to serve several different rolls in the areas of sales, marketing and management.

In 1995, Mike earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and has since served several years as a board member of the local chapter. Most recently, Mike served as the President of the local chapter of CPCU in 2007.

Mike is also a member of the state board of directors of the Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana association and a member of the Indiana State Continuing Education Council.

As Vice President of Operations for McGowan, Mike handles all internal operations of the agency, oversees the Personal Insurance department, and seeks and maintains client relationships as an Account Executive.
